Welcome to Pakistan Academy For Rural Development

Journal of Rural Development & Administration (JORDA)       

The Academy publishes an internationally acclaimed and peer reviewed research Journal, the ‘Journal of Rural Development & Administration (JORDA)’.  It is a biannual journal recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and is aimed at promoting development oriented research. The idea is to stimulate interest in the scientific study of social problems of development and disseminate systematic knowledge especially about the multi-disciplinary field of rural development. It provides a forum to the development professionals, social scientists and researchers from around the world for sharing ideas and thus encourage the integration of indigenous practices with modern approaches.

Guidelines for Submission of Articles

  • Manuscripts of research articles, review studies and book reviews in line with the objectives of JORDA are invited for consideration with the understanding that they are original contributions to the existing knowledge and are not being simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Following guidelines must be followed for submission of manuscripts:

  • First page of the manuscript should have the title of the paper, the name(s) of author(s), and a footnote giving the current affiliation of the author(s) with phone, fax, e-mail and postal address (es).

  • Manuscripts must conform to the style of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition.

  • All manuscripts must include an abstract of maximum 250 words that summarizes the contents on a separate page. Upto five keywords should be given after the abstract.

  • Data used in the analyses of empirical papers should be clearly and precisely documented and made available for reviews. The graphic format for each mathematical formula, diagram, figure or chart should be in text mode for further editing.

  • Tables should be numbered sequentially and title of each table should clearly describe the contents. Source of the table should be given immediately below the table.

  • Reference citations in the text should conform to the APA style; e.g  for citing work of one author; Smith (2002) found… or (Smith, 2002). When a work has two authors, cite both names every time you reference the work in the text. When a work has three to five authors cite all the authors’ names the first time the reference occurs and then subsequently include only the first author followed by et al. For detailed information on the style please follow the 6th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA).

  • Manuscripts should be thoroughly checked by the authors before submission for publication. Incomplete and ambiguous articles will not be entertained.

  • Manuscripts will be peer reviewed by at least two reviewers. After approval these will be edited thoroughly. If conditionally approved, the author(s) will be required to make necessary changes within a specific time period.

  • Manuscripts should be sent in both hard and soft (as an email attachment in MS WORD format) forms on the following address:
